Our last game in Oaks 2, and a short trip down the A3 but it felt further due to the extreme weather! 5 mins before PB we were in the middle of a massive hailstorm, but as soon as the sun came out the pitch dried up & off we went.

We started brightly and took control early on, with a typical tumble from Lucy then Harry opening the scoring with a well-taken goal after a flowing team move. The play was up and down and Spartans clearly had a few new key players who were very useful in the middle of the pitch. Liz was involved in the game after a few quiet weeks! And made some cracking saves. However we went into half time 1-2 down.

The opposition started strong in the second half, but Maddy scored a cheeky goal from the post and we were at 2-2. Spartans then upped their game and scored 2 quick goals. An injury in the oppo gave us a quick breather but with only 10 mins left we were running out of time. Maddy had her goal of the season, a cricket swing which somehow went in! But sadly we did run out of time and the hosts secured the 4-3 win.

A slightly sad way to end a fantastic season but we finished a massive 15 points clear at the top so we can all be very proud and happy with ourselves :)
