On a perfect sunny day for hockey, the team gathered for their penultimate game of the season. The team warmed up ready for the game before having their team talk given by their lovely captain who would be cheering them on from the side line due to injury.

Purley had first push back and within a minute Valley were pressing, Lucy taking a shot. 7 minutes later we had scored with a ball trickling over the line. In the 9th minute valley were rewarded with a short corner due to foot. Unfortunately, nothing came of it. In the next minute there was great play between Lucy and Becca, made the keeper stop the shot and the rebound shot came off the right hand post. During the next minute there was a lovely run down the wing by Sienna resulting in a long corner. A bit of chat back from the oppo to the umpires so the game was paused for a warning. Harry was closing down 16's very well, piling on the pressure. Valley short corner in 24th minute unfortunately coming to nothing. Green card given to oppo 28 minutes for second time of dissent. Great run-up by Sienna which resulted in a free hit inside 23 back to Helen who gave it a big hit into the D deflection by Lucy. A few minutes later another short corner to Valley which narrowly missed and was deflected leading to a long corner. 33rd minute green card for Helen for disagreeing with the umpire.

After a positive team talk from Kat the second half began... During the second minute there was an oppo short corner resulting in a goal to oppo. But Valley answered a few minutes later with Maddie bouncing a shot over the goalie. 10 minutes in another oppo goal. Valley responded by working well in the D creating a Valley short corner. Jade worked her magic and a goal was scored in 13th minute. Valley kept the pressure up and broke down any attacks. Another goal for Valley in the 24th min. More pressure again causing the oppo goalkeeper to make a good save. Continued pressure meant another goal for Maddie. Oppo goalie kept it out again but eventually, another goal for Maddie.
All in all a triumphant win!
