Chertsey delivered an excellent all-round performance to produce a confident 4–1 victory over Addiscombe to secure the league win.
Addiscombe started well and scored first after nine minutes to take a 1–0 lead from a short corner. However, Chertsey responded quickly and with growing intensity. Strong work from Lilly in midfield helped create attacking momentum, and in the 17th minute, Poppy’s cross found Harry, who finished confidently to equalise. Chertsey continued to press, and short corners followed in quick succession. The persistence paid off just before half-time when a well-worked move from Kate and Harry found Maddy at the back post, who calmly converted to give Chertsey a deserved 2–1 lead at the break.
Throughout the second half Chertsey maintained control. After sustained pressure and excellent defensive work across the team, Jade won a short corner which Lilly converted to extend the lead to 3–1. Despite Addiscombe creating a few chances, Chertsey’s defence stood firm, with key interventions from Poppy, Helen, and Mon preserving the advantage. Despite taking a knock to the ankle shortly after, Lilly returned to increase the lead further, scoring with a deflection to secure Chertsey’s fourth goal.
Addiscombe continued to battle, but strong defensive work from Helen, Mon, Lottie and Sienna limited their chances and kept the score at 4-1 for Chertsey to secure the league win. MOM was won by Lilly, for her excellent goals, and Sienna for runs down the line. DOD was Lottie for falling over in the D.
