The day was supposed to be soaked in heavy rain, but when we stepped on the pitch, only a light drizzle fell. The sky was grey, the Astro was wet, and the game began with a quiet tension in the air.
The first half didn’t go our way. We conceded two goals, and for a moment it felt like the day might slip from our hands. But when halftime came, everything changed.
On the Side of the pitch, we talked honestly. We knew what wasn’t working. We knew what had to be done. And when we stepped back onto the pitch, we were a different team.
The comeback started quickly. Harry struck the first goal, lifting everyone’s spirits. Then Lilly fired in the second, bringing us level and filling the team with energy. Harry added another, pushing us into the lead. And finally, Lilly finished the game with her second goal, sealing our victory.
The defence worked calmly, passing the ball out from the back with confidence. The midfield carried the play forward, finding the spaces, and the forwards fought for every chance—chances that led to the goals that won us the game.
By the end, we had turned a 2–0 loss into a 4–2 win, all thanks to the fire of that second half.
Lilly earned Man of the Match for her huge performance.
And Dick of the Day—with good humour—went to Harry.
