Pumped up and all ready to go after a great training session on Thursday we walked out onto the pitch to face Guildford 6s.
The start of the first half looked like it was going to be a very evenly matched game. However, within the first 15 minutes of the game Lilly secured our first goal. There was some amazing play all over the pitch from all of the team but we just couldn't seem to get that second goal.
After ending the first half with nerves as Guildford were starting to fight back we went back onto the pitch willing to put up a fight. And so we did.

Chertsey had push back and used it to our advantage as Emily went on to score the second goal of the game. Quite a few short corners were awarded to us and so we put our practice into play as Lucy and Lilly went on to score our third and fourth goal.
Our defence was strong all game despite facing some skilful players but Guildford never really got any shots on goal. However, after scoring our fourth goal, we began to ease up as Guildford snuck through and scored a scrappy goal to make it 4-1.
Less than 3 minutes later, we were awarded yet another short corner where Jade guided the ball into the back of the goal.
There was nothing Nigel could do now to stop us we were on a roll.
Our sixth and final goal was a whole team effort which was brilliantly finished by Lola on the back post.
Another great win for Chertsey to strengthen our lead in the league.
