We started the game eager post our Thursday night training session with Pockets. Lucy had carried out some opposition research and had cunningly recorded some tips on her banana… On the first pushback we were strong and kept our shape and worked well as a team. This led to a great goal from Lily from a short corner. We then used this momentum to keep moving forward. The opposition also had lots of attacks on our defence but we stayed strong and the midfield helped out breaking down the attacks.
With increased pressure we scored our second goal with a blinding cross from Lucy and an outstanding finish from Lola.
At half-time we had a good talk from Boasty, encouraging us and making us feel confident for the next half.
We started the second half strong but couldn’t score any more goals. Towards the middle of the half the younger legs of the opposition paid dividends. Some strong passes led to a goal slipping through but we didn’t drop our heads, we kept going and had to battle a number of short corners.
We were very pleased with the 2-1 win.
Man of the match was Jade and Wally of the week was Lucy for writing on her banana!!!
